I want to create a pdf poster that will show a schedule that the user can customize, based on classes they offer from a fixed set of classes.
the form would allow the user to pick 4 classes (# doesnt matter here) and would then place a pre-made description of the chosen class into the coresponding forms.
Example:
ship building how to build a sea-wrthy vessel using large fruit
basket weaving 101 how to weave baskets
underwater basketweaving 101 how to weave baskets while underwater
----------------------------------------------
Does acrobat allow me to do this? I havent been able to find an answer yet.

Re: Is it possible to create a pdf with pre-filled forms?
Sun, September 11, 2005 - 10:16 AMPDFs are geared toward ensuring a document's style and content elements remain unchanged while being in transit from desktop to desktop, from printer to printer, etc.
The task you have would be better handled through a dynamic form on a web page. This could allow you to choose selection buttons, drop down menus or text boxes for your page's design & use.
Good luck,

Re: Is it possible to create a pdf with pre-filled forms?
Sun, September 11, 2005 - 3:02 PMNo, I dont think that is possible; however, you should be able to get the various replies from your web page survey e-mailed to you in a format which can be easily exported into an Excel file or a database.

Re: Is it possible to create a pdf with pre-filled forms?
Sun, September 11, 2005 - 3:16 PMOk, I see that I was a bit confusing with what I was looking for (I was afraid of that)
We want to be able to create a document that our instructors can use that will allow them to print out a poster from a pdf file.
We want them to be able to pick from the classes that we offer, which ones they will be teaching, and have the description of that class appear in a field next to the name. We do NOT want the instructors to be able to change the description.
So, lets say the poster had space for 4 classes. The instructor could pick from a list of classes and the pdf would place the text descriptions of the classes into the 4 fields. -

Re: Is it possible to create a pdf with pre-filled forms?
Mon, September 19, 2005 - 2:52 PMUsing acrobat pro 7, I can use a combo or list box for the class name, but I cannot seem to find a way to format the text for the class box so that it wraps instead of creating one long stream of text.
I would think there would be a way to do this, but I havent had any luck on my own.
Ideally one would be able to pick a name from a combo box, and it would deposit the text for that selection. -

Wed, September 21, 2005 - 3:08 PMAlright, I ALMOST have it all figured out, BUT Can you change the alignment on combo boxes? I want the text to be right justified, not left. Cannot seem to find a way to change this.
